Thank You. You know, this Blessing You gave us called gratitude is a funny thing. At times, it can be the single greatest source of inspiration. Being able to recognize, feel, and EXPERIENCE Love from the people in my Life is a beautiful thing. However, there are also times when I have experienced an overwhelming sense of being indebted to others for their Love. Like, no matter what I do I’ll never be able to repay them or show them how deeply appreciative and impacted I am by them. I prayed through the guilt that I have for my various privileges and You touched my heart to show me that guilt does no one any good. The only way through it is to recognize my privilege and use it to continue to serve others.
I thank You, Father. I suppose that’s the thing though, right? Gratitude CAN’T be paid back. Nor should it. Where I sit, gratitude is one of the purest forms of Love, and transcends altruism. That’s when I feel You with me the most, God. When tears of appreciation stream down my face. Feeling such a profound sense of gratitude that it pushes me beyond my comfort zone to continue to not just do better, but BE better.
God, THANK YOU.
I thank you for the joy, Father. For my family. My friends. My coworkers. My work ethic. My resiliency. The heartache. The ridicule. The pain. Shit, even my ex-girlfriends, God. I thank you for all of who I am and who I am continuing to become. Thank you for ultimately showing me that gratitude is not a destination, but the beginning of the path to continue to do your work.
